Once the Canadian Tour dates were announced, there was a thread on the PJ message board by Jason asking if there was anyone who was interested in doing the whole tour. There were some people who expressed interest but I didn.t think they were serious. Most people I talked to were only doing 4 to 5 shows. Anyways I replied to his thread saying I was thinking about doing the whole tour too. He was also saying this guy named Stefan from Vancouver was interested in doing the whole tour too.
We all decided to meet up at a restaurant one night. The cool thing was that we were all from the same city. We live like 20 minutes away from each other. I never knew these guys before. The meeting went well; we seemed to get along with each other, we talked about things like expenses for the trip, accommodations, transportation, etc. At the end of the night we all agreed that buying a van would be the most efficient way to travel across the country.
We met four other times during the summer trying to put the pieces together for this trip. In the end we figured that if we could find other people to travel with us, it would help cut down on our travel costs as well as make our ride more exciting. After searching for about month, we bought a 1989 Dodge Cargo Van off one of Jason's friends for $3300. We split the cost three ways.
We then posted a thread on the message board asking if anyone needed rides, the response was overwhelming. The support from the PJ community was incredible. Some people were requesting rides to two shows, some four shows, and others seven and eight shows. After some researching, emailing back and forth, and posting on the thread we were set and everyone was confirmed in for the rides for their requested city.
